Each zone in Nodiatis has its own and unique boss that can be killed for a boss item or quests. The first time that you kill a particular boss, you are guaranteed to get a non-epic non-travel gear item drop. After that first time, that boss will never drop another loot item again for you, even if you reroll. Certain bosses may also drop specific travel gear or fishing pole if you need them, i.e. you don't already have them in inventory.
Bosses tend to hit harder than non-boss monsters of the same level, and also have double the HP of same-level monsters. In addition, all bosses cast rank 6 Daze, Mesmerize and Stun gems; bosses in Tundra Wastelands and higher zones also cast Apocalypse. Some bosses have the ability to drain your HP (similar to vampires), energy or mana, at a ratio of up to about 1 point drained per 4 HP damage that they inflict on you.
Boss Locations[]
If a player or partymember has not yet killed a particular boss, or needs something that the boss drops (e.g. Fishing Pole, the boss will always appear at a particular location called a "static location". Bosses' static locations are always found on a particular square of a zone, as well as all immediately-surrounding (8 directions) squares that are in the same zone. This central square is described in the boss location pictures below, so please keep in mind that surrounding squares will also be a static location if the square is in the same zone. In addition to static locations, bosses may also be found randomly at any other location within their respective zones. Boss static locations in dungeons such as Moss Dungeon Level 1 are always single squares at the most bottom right of the zone.
