This is your prowess with staves. If this skill is low compared to the suiting of your opponent you may do as little as half normal damage with staff attacks. Additionally when using a staff all of your gems that you click to use while in play use 25% plus 0.15 per point in this skill less energy for a maximum of 40% less energy.

Staves themselves are not commonly used as the main source of damage (though it might not hurt to use as a plan b). rather they are used to amplify the strength of gems.

Classes to consider:

  • DPS: Wizard for bonus to all dd gems, Warlock for red and black dd gems, Druid for all green gems, Angel for all white gems, Necromancer for all the black gems, Jeweler for faster gem draws
  • Tank: Enchanter, Regener 
  • Support: Druid for green heals and resurrection , Angel for white heals and resurrection, Priest for better heals and resurrection , Jeweler for faster gem draws, Enchanter for some damage mitigation.


Posable distribution:

With the reduced costs of energy and the required balancing of other stats in the Magic category it may be useful to max Melee and Magic and to get as much as possible in energy regen. Please note that the usefulness of regen is debatable at high character levels:

  • Melee (str/dex/pst): 0/0/3 1/1/2 
  • Magic (int/cnc/mst): 1/4/1 2/2/1 2/6/1 1/1/1
  • Regen (pre/mre/reg): 3/0/0 2/1/0 5/1/0

Using Balance and/or skills that sacrifice energy for mana (cantrips are really nice) a caster won't need to wait about mana very often.

Summary[]

  • Pros: Highly destructive, can attack multiple enemies at once
  • Cons: High skill levels in multiple areas required, running out of energy/mana means you do little damage
